Grounded 2includes a lot of resources that you’ll need to collect for the sake of crafting and survival, but that’s not the only reason that you’ll be searching for specific items. Optical Disks are more like a collectible that you pick up instead of survival items, but taking the time to find them can be useful for your journey around the park.
You can use Optical Disks by loading them into the Ranger Station, which unlocks additional recipes you can get. Of course, you’ll need to have theRaw Science required to then purchase the new recipesbefore you’re able to use them.
How to Get Optical Disk A
To grab Optical Disk A, you need toenter the Toxic Ant Hill, which is right on the border of the Snackbar area and Picnic Table area. You’ll find the disk in the room before the boss room in the Toxic Ant Hill, where you will face the Cockroach Queen. Luckily, you don’t need to fight her in order to just grab the disk and run.
How to Get Optical Disk B
For Optical Disk B, you need to head to theSpider Den Anthill North Entrance in the Pine Hill area. This means you’ll need to do a bit of climbing over the roots to get to the den’s entrance. From there, you’ll find the disk itself about halfway between the north and south entrances to the den. It’s on the ground by a corpse, so keep your eyes out for a body, and you should have no issues grabbing the disk.
How to Get Optical Disk C
This disk is also called theIce Cream Cart Optical Disk due to its placement in the Ice Cream Cart. As a result, you want to have some chill resistance gear equipped before you head inside the cart to grab the disk from the southeast corner of the cart, given how it’s tipped over. If you enter from the north side of the cart, you’ll go through an ice cream cone with science in it right before you reach the body with the disk.
How to Get the Snackbar TURBO Optical Disk
This disk is one of two that are close to the onboarding facility. To get the Snackbar TURBO Optical Disk, you need to head to thesouthern part of the Snackbar and go underneath it, where you may find the entrance to the Snackbar Anthill. You’ll find the disk within that anthill.
How to Get the TURBO Stolen Optical Disk
This is the second disk that’s in the Snackbar area. You need to head under the table this time and find the entrance to an anthill, which is abit to the south of the plate sitting on the table when you look at the map. When you’re under the table, you can use the plastic spork to help guide you, as it’s on top of the mound that has the entrance dug into its side, so head to the south and a bit east of the spork to find the entrance.
How to Get the Network Center TURBO Optical Disk
This is likely the most difficult disk to pick up. It’s in the Statue area, and you find it in a room with a desk that’s by the boss room in the Network Center. On top of that, you have tofight both the Masked Stranger and Banditbefore you can reach the disk. As a result, you’ll probably end up grabbing this disk last.
With that, you’ll have all six Optical Disks. Each one is used by loading it into the Ranger Stations that you find at Outposts around the park. Doing this unlocks additional recipes, and then you just need the science to purchase and use them in Grounded 2.
