Like any other skill in The Sims 4, you havemultiple ways to earn levels in Thanatology. If you plan on pursuing aReaper career, then it’ll be necessary to start studying for the sake of promotions. However, any Sim is able to learn and level this skill regardless of their career, and doing so opens up new interaction options.
How To Start Learning Thanatology
The easiest ways to pick up Thanatology would be with books or using a computer.For computers, you go into “Read Theories On…“and select one of the options to start earning experience towards Thanatology skill points. Then, for books, you need topurchase books first. You’ll find Thanatology books filtered in the Skill option. You can purchase three levels of Thanatology books. After that, start reading one to acquire this new skill.
Other methods to increase your Thanatology skill include participating in active days in the Reaper career and selecting social options like speaking to ghosts. You can see if an action isrelated to Thanatology by the symbol next to it, which features a person holding four objects, including a skull and a potion.
Not every action that has the Thanatology symbol next to it increases and gives you experience towards the skill.
What Thanatology Unlocks
Learning Thanatology starts to unlock items and actions, like any other skill in The Sims 4. What you unlock is dependent on which skill level you reach, and the list looks like the following:
Thanatology is only a minor skill in The Sims 4, so once youhit Level 5, you have mastered this skill, as opposed to Level 10 for major skills. At that point, you’re ready to be the best Reaper or Undertaker that you can be, or simply enjoy a new understanding of life and death.
