Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is one of the most hyped and loved characters throughout the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While his ‘Hulk SMASH!’ sequences have fans jumping out of excitement, little do they know that the big green character had several more badas* fight scenes scheduled for the films.

However, despite being some of the most enthralling fight sequences of the big guy in rage ever, these scenes couldn’t make it to the big screens. In fact, they couldn’t even make it toAvengers: Age of Ultron, let aloneAvengers: Infinity War —the trailer for which showed Ruffalo’s character charging through Wakanda with the rest of the Avengers by his side.

Mark Ruffalo’s Badas* Hulk Fight Sequences That Never Made It To The Big Screens

After meeting Thanos at the beginning ofAvengers: Infinity War, Mark Ruffalo’s enraged green guy didn’t come out until five years later after being merged with Bruce Banner to form the Smart Hulk. However, the trailer for the 2018 film showed differently, as explained above: something that was never shown inInfinity War.

In an interview withComicBook.com, second unit director and VFX supervisor Dan Deleeuw cleared all these cliffhangers that had left fans baffled to date.
“It’s something that, there’s stuff that misleads, which I generally haven’t been a part of per se, but that one was a giant spoiler, right?” Deleeuw said. “Because we didn’t want to give away Smart Hulk at that point.”

Continuing, he further explained:
“And, so I think you’ve probably seen it where there’s the scene that we didn’t put in where Hulk and Banner are arguing with each other inside the Hulkbuster, and then what was originally going to happen is that Hulk was going to come out, and we didn’t realize it was Smart Hulk yet, and it was an idea that I think Jeff Ford had on Ultron.”
But that wasn’t all: There was another incredible badas* scene for the green guy.

“There was another scene that didn’t make it in, but the idea was that he thought Tony went to go confront Ultron, and really he had stuck Banner in the Iron Man armor and then Banner Hulks out and started wailing on Ultron. It was such an amazing idea. It’s like, ‘Oh, we got to put this in.'”
However, those ideas remained ideas, and the dreams of fans worldwide of seeing Mark Ruffalo’s character in his badas* era remained just dreams as well.

Why Weren’t These Sequences Of A Badas* Hulk Included Anywhere?
During the same interview, Dan Deleeuw explained why the exclusive fight scenes were never really included in the films.
“We used the same idea at the end of Infinity War, but again, it didn’t, both times it didn’t help the story,” Deleeuw admitted. “So, both times it came out and it was like, ‘Oh!’ It’s like, it’s such a great gag, but we really didn’t have a chance to get it in.”
Concluding, he said:
“So it was kind of, that shot was caught in the confluence between trying to get this really fun idea and also not having Nat, Natasha has to go up the Hulk who just magically turned into Smart Hulk, and then meanwhile, Thanos is wiping everybody out. So it’s all story.”
Although the Big Green Guy couldn’t have more terrific action sequences being one of the many changes that were made to land the perfect stories for the last two installments of theAvengersfilm series, it still would have been breathtaking to seeMark Ruffalo‘s character in a whole new light.
