As fans await for the overdue arrival for DC’sThe Flashlater this year, an official tie-in comic has been announced for the upcoming film. Just recently, the publisher revealed thatThe Flash: The Fastest Man Alivewill be releasing this summer. The comic prelude will be a three-issue monthly series beginning in April and will conclude in July. The events taking place inThe Flash: The Fastest Man Alivewill directly lead up toThe Flashfilm, with the entire series being collected in a trade paperback in October. The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive#1 features a main cover by Max Fiumara with a variant cover by the director ofThe Flash, Andy Muschietti. The 48-page debut issue will arrive in participating comic book shops and digital retailers on July 09, 2025. The upcoming comic prelude will be written by Kenny Porter, with art from Ricardo López Ortiz, Juan Ferreyra, and Jason Howard across the three issues. Issue #2 will be available in May and will feature art by fan-favorite Juan Ferreyra, with Jason Howard providing art for the final issue in July.

The Flashis set to be directed by Muschietti, with a script fromBirds of PreyandBatgirl’sChristina Hodson. It will star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen / The Flash, both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton’s iterations of Bruce Wayne / Batman, as well as Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen, Ian Loh as a young Barry Allen, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Rudy Mancuso playing currently-unknown roles. After years being in development, DC’sThe Flashfilm is finally on track to appear on the big screen this November. The upcoming film had faced multiple delays caused by the director changes, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Flash Writer Talks About What to Expect From Director Andy Muschietti

Back in 2020, writer Christina Hodson highly spoke aboutThe Flashdirector, while sharing her excitement about working on the project. “I think Andy’s fantastic,” Hodson shared withComicBook.com. “What I loved aboutIT, The first one, in particular, is that he can do scary, he can do big genre stuff, but he can also do real heart. He can give those characters real emotional depth. And that’s something that I would love to see inFlash.” Honestly, there’s so little I’m allowed to say aboutFlash," Hodson confessed. “I will tell you that for me, the reasons to do it now is because I love it. I’m having a blast working on it. And that is about all I’m allowed to say.”
