Today, Bandai Namco has officially posted the next character reveal for Tekken 8 on its Twitter page. Deemed as “a wildcard for violence and destruction”, Bryan Fury will be making his return to the Tekken franchise for the upcoming game. The former cop turned psychotic cyborg brings his brutal and aggressive fighting style to the game that is touting that style of fighting. The Harbinger of Chaos will be presented in the Unreal 5 engine as Tekken 8 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PC, only.

The character reveal video for Bryan Fury follows in the line of other character reveal videos that Bandai Namco has done for Tekken 8. He takes on both Jack-8 and Paul Phoenix in this video, as you will be able to see some of his combos, his style, and his new HEAT moves. The HEAT mechanic allows for the HEAT Engager, HEAT Burst, HEAT Smash and HEAT Dash. Each character will have their own specifically designed set, as this mechanic aims to change how the latest Tekken game in the series is played.

Bryan Fury joins the previously announced roster that includes Kazuya Mishima, Jin Kazama, Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law, Nina Williams, Jack-8, King, Lars Alexandersson, Jun Kazama, Ling Xiaoyu, Asuka Kazama, and Leroy Smith. Lili was also announced back in late April as a playable character as the game is now up to fourteen playable characters with more to come. Viewers of the videos have also gotten an idea of how the music will be composed in the game and what some of the stages will be and how the combat will work.

Many are hoping over the next coming weeks with all the gaming showcases that Bandai Namco will finally put a release date on Tekken 8. The initial announcement and reveal of Mortal Kombat 1 provided a release date, and while many things have been shown about Tekken 8, there is still no official release date. It is slated to release by the end of the year and pre-order details have not been released yet, either. It seems that the developers are really making sure that the combat is in top shape for when that date actually comes. Tekken 7 received a lot of acclaim and pushing the next release to be a true “next generation” fighter will take time.
