Sales for Starfield in the US shows the RPG is number one even being available as part of Game Pass. Mortal Kombat 1 comes in second.
Starfield Becomes Best Selling Game in US Despite Being on Game Pass
Starfield has stormed the US games chart this year now standing at number one according to sales numbers from Circana. The game which was also released as part of Xbox Game Pass Day 1 releases still has managed to rack up sales across PC and Xbox. According to the top 20 games of September 2023 which includes both physical and full game digital sales, the sci-fi space explorer has chartered new frontiers with its launch.
Starfield was released on September 6th for platforms PC and Xbox Series X|S. Mortal Kombat 1 takes the second spot, which was released on September 19th for Xbox Series, PS5, PC and Switch. Third place goes to EA Sports FC 24, followed by Madden NFL and Payday 3 in fifth place. Hogwarts Legacy is still in the top ten, now in ninth place moving down from fifth last month, andArmored Core VI: Fires of Rubiconat eighth place moving from second place last month.
The media company Circana also states thatStarfieldis the seventh best-selling game in 2023.Hogwarts Legacythough still takes the cake for most sales this year, followed byZelda: Tears of the Kingdomin second. Diablo 4 is funnily enough the fourth best-selling game this year.
In case you missed it, Starfield has been Bethesda’s latest RPG. Since the game launched had10 million playersexploring the galaxies. No don’t this was also helped with being available on Game Pass on day one. However, with the new stats for sales shows plenty of players opted to purchase the game too. Now with the acquisition of another major company Blizzard, we can expect more titles to be coming to the Xbox platform in future.
Recent news also announced that thelead quest designer for Starfieldwill be moving to a new studio to work on the open-world fantasy title Wyrdsong.
