An EA spokesperson commented on the director’s departure saying:“After careful thought and consideration, Stig Asmussen has decided to leave Respawn to pursue other adventures, and we wish him the best of luck. Veteran Respawn leaders will be stepping up to guide the team as they continue their work on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.”

Both titles directed by Stig are popularly acclaimed and considered a Star Wars-worthy entry into the world of video games after so many attempts that fluctuated between releases. And in addition to transforming the games in the saga, he helped to reformulate Respawn as a studio that until then had produced Titanfall as its spotlight.
