OnePlus launched its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 13, in China last November and globally in January of this year, alongside the mid-rangeOnePlus 13R. Recently, OnePlus expanded the lineup with theOnePlus 13T, a more compact version of the OnePlus 13 that was released exclusively in China. However, a rebranded version of the phone, the OnePlus 13s, was released in India. Unfortunately, OnePlus confirmed that the OnePlus 13swon’t be making its way statesidenot long ago.

This means the next major smartphone release in the US by OnePlus likely won’t come until early next year. While 2026 may seem far away, early leaks about OnePlus' next flagship have already started to surface, and the handset could feature a few unexpected surprises.

…the next flagship smartphone from OnePlus could be called the OnePlus 15.

Recent leaks indicate that OnePlus is already working on a successor to the OnePlus 13, and it might not be called the OnePlus 14. According to91mobiles, the next flagship smartphone from OnePlus could be called the OnePlus 15. The reason OnePlus is potentially skipping the 14 moniker is that the number four is considered unlucky in China.

Galaxy S25 Edge from the side

Known tipsterDigital Chat Station, on the Chinese social media site Weibo, shared some details about a new phone, though they didn’t explicitly state it was the OnePlus 15, but rumors suggest that it is. One of the first key leaked elements of the OnePlus 15 is that it could be powered by the SM8850 SoC, which is potentially code for theSnapdragon 8 Elite 2chipset that Qualcomm is expected to release later this year.

5 things Apple needs to learn from Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge

After seeing the Galaxy S25 Edge myself, there are a few things I want to see Apple adopt.

The OnePlus 15 might have a toned-down display

The phone may have a “thin and simple design”

The tipster also suggested that a phone (allegedly the OnePlus 15) may feature a “thin and simple design,” indicating a potential shift in OnePlus' design language. Recent OnePlus flagships have been characterized by their prominent circular rear cameras, so it’s entirely possible OnePlus might be stepping away from this style and exploring a new design for the OnePlus 15.

The OnePlus 13 is 8.5mm thick, so that could be trimmed down as well for the OnePlus' next flagship. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is 8.25mm thick and the OnePlus 13T is 8.2mm thick, so I could easily see OnePlus trimming down the OnePlus 15.

OnePlus 13 price, availability, and specs.

It’s important to note that all this is based on early leaks, so it’s entirely possible a lot could change between now and when the next OnePlus flagship launches…

The most disappointing leak about the phone thus far has to do with its screen. Reportedly, it could have a 6.78-inch 1.5K LPTO display, which would be a major downgrade from the 6.82-inch 2K LTPO display the OnePlus 13 has. However, it could have a new “LIPO packaging process” which could result in narrower bezels (viaAndroid Central).

It’s important to note that all this is based on early leaks, so it’s entirely possible a lot could change between now and when the next OnePlus flagship launches, potentially at the end of this year or early next year. So take all this with a grain of salt for now. Personally, I’d love it if OnePlus shaked up the design of the OnePlus 15, as I’ve never been too fond of the circular camera design. TheOnePlus 13Tis a sign the company is willing to change the look of its phones, so perhaps it’s a telltale sign of what’s to come to next.
