Two new games based upon theUtawarerumonoanime have been announced; an action game and a new RPG. Let’s focus upon the RPG for now.
New Utawarerumono RPG will further expand on the series' world
Developer Aquaplus revealed to Famitsu that they are working on anUtawarerumonoRPG. The title of the newUtawarerumonoRPG hasn’t been announced yet. What is known is that its story is being written by Suga Munemitsu. He wrote the scenarios for Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception and Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth.
Knowing the story of the anime is bound to be handy. So you may want to watch it before the game’s launched. Here’s a rough synopsis. An injured amnesiac with a mysterious mask is found abandoned in the forest. He’s nurtured back to health and given the name Hakuoro. After he saves the village from an angry deity, he becomes the village’s leader. Although he only wants to live in peace, he’s eventually forced to go to war.
In addition to the anime series and the action game, there’s also a visual novel. So you’ve got a lot of catching up to do. Or you could just claim that you were once an expert but then you suffered amnesia.
