Apple TV+already earneditself a trio of nominations from this year’s EE British Academy Film Awards, or BAFTA. And now the service has earned some awards from the organization’s TV side, too.
Appleofficially announcedtoday that three different series picked up nominations from this year’s BAFTA TV Awards. As Apple notes today in its announcement, this is the first time that anything from Apple TV+ has been nominated for a BAFTA TV Award, and it’s coming out strong in its debut.
The three series nominated this year are:Little America,Tiny World, andEarth At Night In Color.
From today’s announcement, Apple highlights just how many awards Apple TV+ films, series, and documentaries have been nominated for (and won!) up to this point:
These nominations mark Apple’s BAFTA TV Awards debut and follows a string of accolades for Apple TV+ series and films, including Academy Award nominations, SAG Awards, Critics Choice Awards, Critics Choice Documentary Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Daytime and Primetime Emmy Awards, NAACP Image Awards, a Peabody Award and more, earning 106 wins and 367 nominations in just under a year and a half.
As mentioned above, Apple TV+ saw two films earn nominations from BAFTA earlier this year.Wolfwalkers, which was also nominated for an Academy Award, and the Tom Hanks-starring World War II thrillerGreyhound.
Each of these series nominated today are certainly worth checking out on Apple TV+. EspeciallyEarth At Night In Color, which captures wildlife in its natural habitat, at night, in stunning clarity. You can check it out in the trailer just below.
