You can choose Cozy or Expert rulesets when you create a new LEGO Fortnite world. We’ll dive into specifics in a moment, butCozy is for players who want a relaxed experiencebut want more progression than you get in Creative mode.
Expert mode ramps up the difficulty with stronger enemies and the threat of permadeath! There is a way to cheat death, butthis mode is for combat-focused playerswho relish a challenge.

LEGO Fortnite Cozy settings explained
Cozy settings may be perfect if you don’t want to play Creative mode butfind the regular mode too tricky. All the progression and survival mechanics of the regular mode are here, but with some key changes:
These settings all soften the blow if the unfortunate happens. Instead of losing all of your hard-earned gear if you die, you return to your village with everything intact. Also, all of these settings can be tweaked; these are just the default Cozy settings.
Cozy mode also removes most of the Survival meters,like Hunger and Stamina. If you can’t bear the thought of losing your beloved pet pig, well, you don’t have to worry about that either!
You can change every setting in Cozy mode, but the presets will begreat for casual or younger playerslooking to try their first Survival Crafting game.
Keep in mind thatthe same rules apply to building complexity on busy maps.
LEGO Fortnite Expert settings explained
On the other end of the scale, we have Expert mode, which makes LEGO Fortnite far more challenging. For starters,all regular enemies are stronger than usual, so your equipment matters.
As I mentioned previously,there’s Permadeath in Expert mode, which means death removes your character from the world. you’re able to cheat death if you have the Totem of Return in your inventory, but it breaks upon use.
If you’re a glutton for punishment, you’ll be pleased to learn you canearn items for your effortsin Expert mode. You’ll earn exclusive trophies if youdefeat any of the Storm-Wild Bruteswhile you have a level 10 village.
What are Storm-Wild enemies in LEGO Fortnite?
Storm-Wild enemies areturned on by default in Expert modebut can be enabled elsewhere. These enemies havemore health, deal more damage, and move faster than usual. In other words, you must be very careful if you pick a fight with one.
Every hostile mob in LEGO Fortnite has a Storm-Wild variant, andthey make exploring more treacherousthan it’s ever been before.
These Storm-Wild enemies are hard to outrun as they have increased movement speed, soit may be worth using a vehicle.
