“I didn’t see any other way,”McAdams shared.

She asserted,

“It wasn’t something I could ever possibly see myself doing. I have no issues doing it for a part if it makes sense, if it’s not gratuitous and I think it’s adding to the story. But not as myself on the cover of a magazine about Hollywood’s most powerful young women.”

ThePirates of the Caribbeanstar further delved into the controversial photoshoot, sharing her thoughts on theRed Eyeactress’s decision to not move forward with it.

“It was actually pretty undramatic as I remember it. Quite early on Rachel just said, ‘No, I’m not into that’. She’s a lovely girl, and I really respect her for doing that. Both me and Scarlett had worked with Annie Leibovitz (the photographer) and her team before, and I really get on with them, so that was a situation I felt comfortable in.”

She further asserted why the two popular actresses went ahead with the shoot.

“I really believe in this industry women have to be very true to themselves about what they’re comfortable with. Both me and Scarlett said, ‘This is definitely something that we’re up for.’ “So why not? It’s something to show the grandchildren!”

While the duo boldly showed themselves, it became one of the highly controversial Hollywood covers since both the actresses went nude with fashion icon, Tom Fordposing with his clothes on. Many deemed the issue as highly inappropriate leading to quite a backlash.
