While a majority of them will beunlocked as you progress through the story, there are some that are scattered throughout the world of Euchronia. Fortunately, they appear rather early in the game, so you can getat least 12 of them before you reach your second trial. You’ll find them around towns likeMartina and the Grand Triad. Furthermore, they’ll have portraits alongside their dialogue and usually have big side quests to boot, likeBrigittaandAlonzo(Cuculus).
Some of the Bonds require at least a level 2 stat like Courage or Tolerance, so make sure to spend time boosting those in town.

Once you’ve completed what they ask of you, you’llshake handsand unlock whatever Archetype they are given, likeBardonwithCommanderandCatherinawithBrawler. How to Evolve Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio
In order to get more Archetypes outside the base ones, you have to meet up with your followers and talk to them. You may need to boost up stats likeCourage,Tolerance, andImaginationin order to start and continue them, but there are plenty of ways in-town and on the Gauntlet Runner to do such cultivating. Still, at aroundRank 3-4of your bond with any follower, you’llunlock the second in the Archetype’s lineage. Meanwhile, getting toRank 7-8willunlock the third and final Archetype in the lineageoutside party members.
However, to use them, you must Master the previous Archetype and have enough MAG. For some, like the Magic Knight, you need to get to a certain level with other Archetypeslike the Mage. If you’ve been experimenting a lot, you may already fit those requirements. Though, if you do need to level up your Archetypes, I suggest taking on some bounties or side dungeons, as they’ll boost them up in no time.
