While there are Pine Needles spread around the northern side of the park, Thistle Needles can be found relatively early on in the story. These prickly little needles are very important for those who wish to interact with the ranged combat inGrounded 2, being a core component in crafting ammunition such as Arrows, along with setting up base defenses, such as Spike Strips.

Certain early game quests require you to create Spike Strips, so finding these needles is of the utmost importance, so we have their exact location in this guide.

Where to Find Thistle Needles

Thistle Needles are surprisingly well hidden in Grounded 2. In fact, they were so well hidden that we couldn’t find them for the first twenty hours, but that just shows how well they blend into the environment, because they were right under our noses all this time.

Thistle Needles are razor-sharp needles that are taken essentially from weeds. Not the weeds that we getWeed Stemsfrom, but instead ones you might be better known to see in your yards. These are large weeds that have sharp leaves growing out of them, generally at the bottom, and little spiked stems going up to the top.

The sharp barbs are what we are actually looking for, as these are Thistle Needles. The big question is: where can we find these plants? Well, they are both in theSnackbar Frontand theEntranceareas of the map.

Right from the first camp you set up (at the Ominent station), you’re able to find a couple immediately to your east. Go across the small valley and up a tree root sticking out of the ground. At the top will be the sharp leaves of the weed. You’re unable to actually cut this down, but instead pick the needles off the shaft of the weed.

In addition to your east, you may go immediately south to find a couple, and one along the south of the snackbar stand. Once you have them, you’ll be able to go back to base and use them to craft some fantastic items.

What Are Thistle Needles Used For?

Obviously, the most important item that Thistle Needles are used to craft are Arrows, allowing anyone with a bow’n arrow to actually fight off flying foes, such as mosquitoes or bees. Outside of this, there are only a couple of other items to build with it:

Nifty Needle

Pointy Rounds x25

Acorn Fence

Spike Strip
