Though I wasn’t around to experience the hype that was the glorious Breakneck back in Forsaken, I am around now to tell you why Breakneck is a great Kinetic Auto Rifle God Roll available in Destiny 2 Season of the Wish. Here’s how to get it and the PvP and PvE God Rolls.
How to get Breakneck in Destiny 2
Believe it or not, Breakneck is a Gambit weapon which means the best way to get one is toplay Gambit. You may be able to get Breakneck as a random drop from winning Gambit, but the best strategy I recommend using to get Breakneck is tofocus your Gambit Engrams at The Drifterin The Tower. It’ll cost more resources and take more time, but it’s your one surefire way of getting Breakneck.

Before we get started, Breakneck doesn’t have its legendary Forsaken God Roll but it has a large perk pool with arguably better combos. It’sa Precision Framewhich is great and, since it’s not a flashy weapon with subclass synergies, it’sbest for PvP.
Is the Destiny 2 Breakneck God Roll worth it?
Breakneck is100% worth it. I often look back and wish I grinded for a God Roll of a specific weapon that was only easily available several seasons ago. Don’t let Breakneck be that weapon for you. If you love Auto Rifles (who doesn’t), you should definitely try to get a Breakneck PvP or even a PvE God Roll.
Best Destiny 2 Breakneck God Roll for PvP
The goal for the Breakneck PvP God Roll is toincrease range and stabilitywhile enjoying a beautiful pairing of perks. I recommendSmall Boreas it gives you +7 stability and range, but if you want to hone in on range, you can go for Hammer-Forged Rounds which gives +10 range, or go for Arrowhead Brake to greatly control the recoil.
Ricochet Roundsis always the go-to pick for any weapon for PvP God Rolls. Getting the extra damage from bullets bouncing off walls is great and you get another +5 range and +10 stability.
The perks are where Breakneck is a beast;Subsistenceis an amazing perk that partially refills your magazine after defeating enemies which comes in clutch for survivability in PvP.Onslaughtincreases the weapon’s fire rate after getting a final blow. Together, Breakneck fires faster and reloads less often, making it an absolute machine in PvP.

Best Destiny 2 Breakneck God Roll for PvE
Honestly, the PvP God Roll for Breakneck makes for an excellent PvE God Roll as well which is great news if you don’t want to hunt down two different God Rolls. However, you can switch a few things around if you really want tooptimize Breakneck for PvE.
In PvE, range isn’t everything. Because of that, I suggestArrowhead Brakewhich gives you +10 handling and +20 recoil. This allows you to control the weapon much better. Since Breakneck is Kinetic, I recommendArmored Piercing Roundsto give you a slight boost to range but more importantly help you crack through enemy shields in PvE.
For the first perk slot, go withSubsistence. It’s the best choice even for PvE because you’ll be able to defeat a lot more enemies before you need to reload. The second perk slot is more tricky because there are a lot of great options.
Personally, I recommendAttrition Orbs, a new perk that gives you Orbs of Power after dealing sustained damage. The frequency of Orbs of Power got nerfed, so if you want to keep your broken builds, you need Attrition Orbs. If you want an add-clearing machine, I recommendKinetic Tremorsas it emits a shockwave after dealing sustained kinetic damage. also, you can’t go wrong withDemolitionistwhich gives you grenade energy upon weapon kills.
