Whenever you listen to a song, iOS puts a widget on your handset’s Lock screen so that you’re able to see what’s playing and interact with the playback as you see fit. As useful as this is, it’s particularly unfortunate that Apple doesn’t let you customize the widget’s aesthetics in any way.
Thankfully, it doesn’t have to be that way if you’re jailbroken. A newly released and freejailbreak tweakdubbedCustomPlayerby iOS developeriCrazeenables users to colorize the Now Playing widget however they like.
In the screenshot examples above, you can see just a few examples of a colorizedNow Playingwidget by way of CustomPlayer. Whether or not you like the color choices in our examples is a moot point as you can choose whatever colors you may want for yourself.
Upon installing CustomPlayer, users will find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where they can customize CustomPlayer to their liking:
