There is a shockingly small number of Dark-type Pokémon available in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which is sad. Dark-type Pokémon are always great to have in a party. With legendary Darkrai aside, the best Dark-type Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is actually the Water-type starter Pokémon, which evolves into Hisuian Samurott.

Hisuian Samurott’s Dark and Water dual-typing gives it a nice immunity to Psychic-type moves. Hisuian Samurott has a great attack and special attack stat, and combine that with its ability to use great moves like Hydro Pump and Dark Pulse, you can’t go wrong.

Other strong Dark Type Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
There are only a few Dark-type Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but the ones available are all great choices.Umbreon, the newly introduced evolution of Hisuian Qwilfish,Overqwil, andHonchkrowall make for great Dark-type Pokémon.
Umbreon is a part of the popular Eevee line of evolutions and is always a great choice for Dark-type Pokémon. Umbreon is far more geared toward defense than attacking, though this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Pokémon with high defense stats are useful in many situations.
Overqwil is a Dark and Poison dual-type Pokémon, which gives it only one major weakness in Ground-type moves. It has a great base attack stat and can definitely hold its own in battle.
Honchkrow is a classic choice for players needing a Dark-type attacker. It has a great attack and special attack stat, and with a double immunity to Psychic and Ground-type moves, this Pokémon is a tough opponent.
