Battlefield 2042 Dec 2 update patch notes: Weekly Missions, Portal upgrades & more changes
Battlefield 2042 continues to receive updates from EA and DICE and December 2 welcomes the newest set of improvements. The core focus is the addition of new Weekly Missions, improvements to the Portal mode, and general quality of life changes. We have the full update’s patch notes below.
It seems like EA are listening to the lukewarm reception toBattlefield 2042and are trying to make amends. They have already released two previous updates that have fixedlag issuesandOP Hovercrafts. Not only that, but they have also added new content and fixed existing content, with no signs of this stopping.
December 2 is the date for the newest update and EA dropped the full batch of patch notes for players to view now. Some of these are neat, incremental changes that should enhance the Battlefield 2042 experience for many.
Weekly Missions added to Battlefield 2042
Players will now receive “3 varying missions each week” that they can track and monitor the progress of. Completing an individual mission will reward a healthy bunch of XP.
However, if players are able to complete all three of them in the given week, then this will reward a “unique cosmetic reward!” What it is we don’t know, but what we do know is that this is a nifty way to keep players more engaged each week.
We expect them to either be added on the release of the update, December 2, or more likely the following Monday: December 6.
Battlefield Portal upgrades & additions
Arguably the game’s most popular mode isBattlefield Portal, the crazy combination of previous Battlefield games rolled into one. Players’ weird and wonderful creations continue to keep the community locked in, and now they’ll have more content to enjoy.
New game mode layouts, a new fresh “vehicle Team Deathmatch” mode is being added, and enhancements to the Rules Editor have opened the door to even more chaotic concoctions.

Gameplay & general improvements
Not everything has to be a headline-worthy inclusion, and it’s usually the smaller fixes that can have the most impact.
Menus have been made more accessible and there are apparently well over150 general improvementsmade to the game. Key specifics include “spawning, visual glitching or collision issues” and also fixes for audio issues.
